Girls Camp in Nattitingou

Well....

I have been here for a week now taking two of my students to a week long girls camp. There are eleven communities, thirteen volunteers, ten professional women, and several not for profit organizations participating. The goal is to educate, motivate, and then inspire this girls to be able to accomplish their dreams. Yes, no small task, but on the whole I think they are having a good time.

LIttle things have gone wrong and honestly I have basically been a helper and not a leader. Surprisingly that is getting easier. A year ago to share the stage would have been too hard for me. I have learned where my limits my limits are.....finally.

Quick story from the camp. The first day this women told them the theme of the camp - We are the future. They screamed it over and over. I see these girls is so many aspects. I see them with a thinking veiny forehead. I see they teary after admiting the limitations they feel they have, I see them laughing until it hurts, and I see them dancing with pride demostrating their cultural dances. All I have to say is that Benin has a bright future with these girls and I am just happy to be a part of it.

With people like you, the U.S. has a bright future as well. I couldn't be prejudiced, could I?
