Training Session
Published on May 17, 2005 By Beninian Annie In Misc
So I apologize, I have been a bad friend, daughter, niece, granddaughter, and sister of late. Pretty much because I have isolated myself for the past two months - not emailing, writing, or getting phone calls. But, not without good reason as I have been a post for the majority of the time.

Seriously, I cannot believe I am writing this, but I am finished with teaching for this year. Last Friday I reviewed for the final test and next week is their final exam. During June we do the calculating of the grades and wrap_up. Then, the last week of June I start PC training stuff for the upcomming stage.

Well, so a lot has happened at post these months. I guess it would be better to say what I have been doing then what I will do, right? I have finished my proposal finally for a teacher trainning session I will have in October. It will be the first of its kind in Benin and hopefully a great model for future projects of this sort. My school also completed a wall mural of the world. I wish you could have seen the faces of the kids while they were painting it. It was like a gateway to the world was truly opening up with only a paintbrush and some paint. The only job when I return is to write the country names in marker.

Alrighty, I think that is it for now, please keep questions comming, cause life has become so routine and in my opinion boring to the outside world. I guess in my mindset, I eat, work, and sleep like anyone else. I know that is not the case, but I also don,t know what to tell you.

I would love to hear from you all. BYE BYE for now.

Hey Annie,
I'm back from Germany and Austria, after having a perfectly wonderful time combining old and new experiences. Biggest surprise was how wonderful Innsbruck is; I hadn't even planned on spending a day there, but cancelled a trip to St. Anton and Valluga to feast on the old town and the surrounding mountains. My German keeps improving; many couldn't tell I was an American. I have booked the flights to Benin (arrival on the eve of December 26), and will take care of the visas this month. Tom and I are going to go back to Germany and Austria this summer for two weeks after his summer school is over. My gig schedule for the fall is too busy to squeeze in a trip then. Hopefully, we can meet in Europe next summer, just father and daughter, and tool around for a couple of weeks. There's lots I'd like to show you; maybe I should become a tour guide after my performance career is over! (Naah, I'd have to deal with American tourists!!!)
Love,
Dad

Well...I had a crazy dream last night that I was coming to join you in the Peace Corps in Africa...but I was going to Rwanda. And we had the option of going sky diving twice during the time that we were flying to Africa...craziness...but sometimes escaping this craziness for different craziness in another area of the world is so attractive! So, I guess now everyone reading your blog knows how random I am...ah well...

Love,
Becca
