Happy Late V_day

Hello all and happy valentines day a week late.

I am here in Parakou for a week for the In Service Training all Peace Corps Volunteers go through three months after they swear in. So, I will hopefully be in touch will all of you soon. Tests went well this week. My second year classes did especially well and all but ten kids passed. I graded all of my 225 papers in one night because I did not want to bring them here. WOW, will never do that again. However, I have 100 percent less work to do now and am very relieved.

Water is getting slim in my village with the rainy season, so it is also good to be in a bigger city and enjoying modern, well Western conviences. WE HAVE A SWIMMING POOL and the place we are staying. How amazing is this, it just humbles me on how many things I take for granted in the US.

So, yeah, the school semester is now half over. I do this three more times - semesters that is and then I am done. It is honestly almost a but scary how fast it has flown by.

Alrighty, more to come throughout the week. Love you all and special shout out to all the Alpha Chis for thinking of me during Rush. Heidi tell Ariane thanks although I am not sure I am at The Whiz level yet.

Miss you all and please send me cold vibes and the heat begins!!!!!! AHHHH!!!! Not looking forward to it right now!

Hey, Annie--Congratulations on finishing the first quarter in great shape. Could you use some snow? It's been coming down here all morning; more than one heart is yearning for the spring equinox, now just a month away. Keep on setting high standards for your students: they'll appreciate it--and you--for the rest of their lives. Love from Uncle.

Hey Annie!!! That's awesome that your kids are doing so well!! I know they probably love you! My kids are being pretty obnoxious these days, but hopefully, when it gets warmer, the cabin fever or whatever they have will go away gradually! So, I have to tell you what Ashley and me did one Saturday afternoon. We drove to DePauw for the sole purpose of getting MARV'S!! We were going to stop in the house to say hi and look around, but they were having rush practice. Let me tell you, that Marv's was probably the best Marv's I've ever had in my life!! haha DePauw's alumni weekend was last weekend, and I was going to go and play with the team, but I went to Iowa to watch my sister play instead. She did awesome! She's on JV, but she gets to play all the time. I talked to Jill, and she said there were so many bballers there. She said it was great! But anyway, Keira's coming into town this weekend to go out with us! Wish you could go too, but I'm so glad you're having a great experience out there! Have fun and stay cool! Miss and love ya!
